Had a pretty good photo shoot in the mountains today. More to come. 🙂
Late afternoon on a sunny day in the Cascades. Shot near Diablo Lake.
I was up in the Cascades setting up a shot of snow blowing off a mountain peak. I saw a bird flying into frame and thought “OMG!!!!! An eagle!!!!”. I fired away and this was the result. It wasn’t an eagle – I think it was a very big raven. Almost trashed the shot because the focus and framing are a bit off but there is something about it that I like. So here it is.
To me this shot sums up some of the good things about living in the Pacific Northwest. A rare clear winter morning, take a trip to the water, relax and watch one of the ferries go by with a backdrop of Mount Baker glowing in the morning sun. Days like this help make up for the rain and clouds.
