This is an experimental shot that combines two techniques. It is a panorama – four images combined to get a wide final image. Each of the images used to create the panorama is an HDR (high dynamic range) image – three exposures (one overexposed, one normal exposure, one underexposed) combined to bring out color and detail beyond what you can get with a single exposure.

Sun was out today so I went looking for something interesting to shoot. Ended up at a favorite place – Northern State Hospital. This is the first shot that I liked. More to come soon. HDR (high dynamic range) image, 3 exposures merged with the Lightroom LR/Enfuse plugin.

We had a break in the clouds this evening and I was able to capture the crescent moon before it set. This shot is a fusion of two exposures processed with Photomatix Pro 4.0 HDR software. The camera is a Nikon D7000 and the settings were ISO 400, f/5.6, 200mm. The two exposures were 1/500 second and 1/200 second.
