On my most recent photography roadtrip I had the rare privilege of encountering a group of wild horses who let me move with them and photograph them for about 20 minutes. (I was very careful to maintain a safe and respectful distance.) It was the best time of the trip. This is the first of many shots I took during that encounter…
Beautiful!
I love this one, single horse-expansive background!
What a beautiful view!!!!
Do you know which herd this is? This is a lovely photo depicting the terrain these magnificent beasts roam. My hearts desire is to stop the brutal helicopter roundups and keep them on the range.
Thanks. I don’t know the designation of the herd, if it has one. I found them in the high country south of Green River, Wyoming.
Is this from the Pilot Butte Scenic Horse Loop? If so I think I managed to capture the same stallion in roughly the same area when I traveled in that area last month. I had the opportunity to spend some time with him as he was looking at a big rock formation on the south side of Interstate 80.
It is in that same area. The group I photographed had two stallions, two mares, and two foals.
Really stunning…the placement of the horse in the landscape, the colors, the depth. Love it.
Beautiful colors!
