Sometimes you get an image that just doesn’t work. I was at Johnson Lake in Wyoming trying to shoot some interesting looking clouds. But shooting a panorama facing into the sun usually doesn’t work too well and I couldn’t get this one to look right. So I decided to do some messing around with my photo processing tools. The basic idea of this image is “What if I was having a pleasant day at the lake and then the sun exploded?”
Whatever you did work very well. Excellent image again!
Love it!! Super, super cool!! Great job!
” What if I was having a pleasant day at the lake and then the sun exploded?” – Well it would look damn pretty for a while, according to your image…let’s not dwell on apocolyptic thoughts afterwards – brilliant!
To me it looks almost ‘paranormal’ in it’s intensity, like a portal opening. ‘Donnie Darko’ comes to mind, LOL. Nice one!
Nice shot Mike! Great processing. This reminds me of the movie Independence Day. The clouds look exactly like the part where the Alien spaceships entering the Earth’s atmosphere and the people were standing around wondering about the bright swirling clouds. My answer to your statement… if the sun exploded, at least you got to spend your last day looking at something truly beautiful. 🙂
It looks like you were messing around and captured GOD!
So strongly dramatic and provocative. Great one!
Awesome image, just pulls the eye right into the time and place.
