Stunning – in a chilling sort of way. Kind of reminds me of some spectacular sunsets we had when we lived in London (we’re now in Wales) after there was an explosion and fire in Hemel Hempstead (an area about twenty or so miles north of London) in a fuel depot. The skies were fabulous for a long time afterwards, deep purple and watermelon coloured sunrises and sunsets, but – at what cost?
It was a little disturbing to be on the shore of this beautiful bay and see those stacks belching out huge plumes. I remember thinking, “I hope that’s steam.”
Now this is fantastic! The romantic in me loves it!
This heart shape is pretty neat, wonder if it was spotted after the photo was taken or before.
I noticed the plumes (it was a cold morning with no wind) but I didn’t notice the heart shape until later.
That’s really cool, I really like the tones in the cloud.
I have passed that refinery so many times and never even gave it a second thought to shoot it! Very nicely captured, love how ominous the smoke looks.
That’s the way of things sometimes. If you took a photo walk around the ranch I’m sure you would see things I walk past every day and never noticed.
Very creative. I think you beat my garbage disposal hearts! 🙂

Nice shot Mike, I think I’d title it “Love hurts” 🙂
