Sun was out today so I went looking for something interesting to shoot. Ended up at a favorite place – Northern State Hospital. This is the first shot that I liked. More to come soon. HDR (high dynamic range) image, 3 exposures merged with the Lightroom LR/Enfuse plugin.
Nice, I like these “depth” shots, always keeps me staring 🙂 You got great texture and detail, I guess the Enfuse worked well on those dark areas further back, eh? 🙂
Thanks. I find HDR works really well at this place – where you have a brightly lit exterior and an unlit building interior. LR/Enfuse is a really nice tool – doesn’t have all of the bells and whistles of some other HDR packages but as a I go along I find I don’t need them anyway. It’s great for producing a blended exposure shot and, since it’s donation-ware, you don’t have to pay $100+ for it. Highly recommended. http://www.photographers-toolbox.com/products/lrenfuse.php
🙂 Hey, I know that place!! I have to try to remember to take bracketed shots for HDR images. 😀
I still want to go through there with you David – you have some great shots of places I have not found yet. 🙂 In this case I made a last-minute decision to go here while on the way to another location.
Using this technique, your shots definitely have a lot more depth than what I’ve been able to capture there. Must learn HDR…
Curious, I looked at this and thought “what’s the cover of Ummagumma doing here?” It’s got that look at this, look again feeling to it. Very interesting – I like it.
🙂
I never noticed the resemblance, but now that you mention it I see Ummagumma in there. 🙂
Very interesting. Almost like a surreal painting.
