Hooray, more slightly creepy abandoned buildings! Click on the images to see larger versions.
HDR (high dynamic range) image. Combining several exposures to get a balanced shot showing the sunlit exteriors and dark interiors of some of the buildings.
Yes, I had a thing with shooting doorways on this trip. I also like all of the stuff growing on the roof.
HDR image.
These buildings can be a bit creepy even on a sunny day. I was wandering around and I started hearing this strange squeaky scraping sound. Flashback to every Stephen King book I have ever read. It was the pieces of this partially collapsed roof moving in the wind. At least I think it was the roof….
This is why you are not allowed to go into the buildings…
A look back at this set of buildings as I moved on to other parts of the park.
Interesting shots. I like the perspective of the doors. It does seem creepy looking at all the broken pieces… kind of makes you wonder about the “pain and suffering” these buildings to used to hold.
I love NSH, it’s one of my fav places to go actually! Nice shots.
Here in the UK when old buildings become abandoned, they generally throw up a security fence and you’re not allowed to enter. Always they cite Health and Safety so it becomes very difficult to get good photographs like this.
Sneaky sneaky!
Lovely HDR shot. for once not an image that looks like it was processed by a 9 year old.
Thanks. It’s tempting to max out the HDR images at first, resulting in cartoons, but I’m trying to learn to be more restrained with it.
I like the perspective of the third shot. It’s so gloomy on your end, and so bright and beautiful on the opposite side. You got some good photos that day!
Really enjoyed these.
